How these pages are written

Who writes Appliances, where each answer comes from, and what is and is not tested.

Appliances answers one kind of question: a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher or fridge shows an error code or stops mid-cycle, and you want to know what the code means and what you can safely check before calling an engineer.

Editorial responsibility. Mahdi Ben Rhouma, a software developer who also runs iloveblogs.blog, is responsible for this publication. AI tools assist with drafting and review. References are linked so you can inspect the maker's own instructions; an AI review is not a test on a machine.

Where the answers come from. Each page is built from the maker's own manual or support pages (Samsung, LG, Bosch, Whirlpool and others). The sources are listed at the bottom of every page. Codes can differ between models and regions: when they do, the page says so.

What we stay away from. Pages cover only the checks the maker tells owners to do: taps, hoses, filters, settings and resets. They never ask you to remove panels, work on wiring or gas, or touch mains power. When the maker says to call an engineer, the page says so.

What is not claimed. Unless a page says otherwise, the steps were not run on every model. Menus, codes and wording differ between models; pages follow the maker's documentation.

Corrections. Substantive corrections are made at the existing URL with an accurate updated date. A useful report includes the page URL, the exact sentence, your model number and a link to the maker's documentation. Pages carry no advertising and set no cookies.
